How to bring elements of nature into your home

How to bring elements of nature into your home

One of biggest home trends of 2017, is bringing nature indoors. From incorporating house plants of every size into your favourite spaces through to embracing the boldest jungle prints, the outdoors seems to be coming in, and we’re embracing it.

Here’s our guide to embracing one of this season’s hottest home interior trends…

Natural light

One of the easiest ways to make a room feel brighter, lighter and bigger is to encourage as much natural light into the space as possible. Pull back those heavy curtains with ties or install roller blinds so that you can welcome natural light into your home when the sun is shining.

House plants

It started with a crazy rush for indoor cacti, and now the houseplant trend is in full swing, with people filling their homes with luscious, green plants of all shapes and sizes.

There’s lots of ways that houseplants can work in other spaces too! For example, why not accessorise your kitchen window sill with a practical yet pretty herb plant? You could even inject life into your bedroom with small potted plants on a bedside table. House plants really are the perfect way to bring elements of nature indoors, whilst brightening and freshening up a room – just remember to water your plants!

Natural colours and prints

Jungle-style prints are everywhere at the moment. Boasting deep, earthy colours and big, bold leafy patterns, they can be incorporated into a variety of different spaces. Add a selection of cushions to the sofa, add a patterned throw to the end of your bed or bring a new block of colour into the bathroom with new bathmats and towels – an inexpensive and fun way to give your home a natural summer spruce.

A signature wall

There’s lots of ways that you can incorporate this popular trend into your home, without it costing the earth. For example, a patterned signature wall is a great way to make create a striking focal point, in a wide range of spaces.

There is a wide selection of different wallpaper designs available that are perfect for injecting distinct elements of nature into a signature wall.

From floral to forest themed wallpapers, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to adding a nature inspired dimension to the spaces you spend the most time in.

Nature-inspired scents

Your home doesn’t just have to look natural, it could smell natural too. This can easily be achieved by bringing outdoor scents indoors by using floral candles or fresh scent diffusers. These are a great alternative to the sometimes-overpowering air fresheners that the majority of us use.

They also make a great addition to a side table or shelf.
